Ongame Adds Sit and Gos to Mobile Client
The
Ongame Network announced that it is
now including sit and gos in its mobile client. The mobile client has been featuring cash games to this point. The game play is reported to be very smooth and games are easy to find and enter. The added sit and gos in the mobile client are in addition to the No Limit Hold'em and Limit Hold'em cash games already present.
Ongame adding sit and gos to its mobile client is its first major change since NYX Gaming acquired the network from Amaya Gaming over a month ago. NYX Gaming hopes it is able to buck the trend that existed under Amaya Gaming's ownership of sites leaving the network.
For almost a decade, Ongame was one of the top ten poker sites listed on
PokerScout, which orders sites by cash game volume. Recent times have not been as fruitful for the network, with major skins leaving, causing it to drop to 22nd place worldwide.
While it will take a bit more than a better mobile client to change the trend, this is a step in the right direction for a few reasons. One of the main reasons this is an important move is that it should help keep the recreational player base happy and more likely to continue playing there. Recreational players love the ability to play poker on the go and Ongame is a network branded more toward these types of players in general.
Another key reason is NYX Gaming showcasing to potential business-to-business partners that it is serious in improving its poker offerings. This is important to retain the current partners the network has since losing another key partner could prove devastating to the network's eco-structure.
Executive Vice President of Business Development for NYX Gaming, David Flynn, agrees that expanding the network's mobile offering is a solid first move and hopefully just the beginning. Flynn elaborated in a press release first reported on igaming, org, "Having the ability to launch sit and go tournaments via our mobile and tablet poker products is an essential part of any poker offering. Both customer and player feedback has been great and we are looking forward to building on this latest release with new features and functionality."
